Twenty11-Part 1

So, a month and a half ago, I promised to upload some lyrics from My Awakening's songbook, and as of yet, haven't. Well you know me. So I figured, with it being New Year's Eve tomorrow, I'd do one now, one of our newest song's, called 'Twenty11.' Can you guess what it's about? Haha.

We debuted this song last week, at The Picket, after I'd spent the last four months hating the chorus, and not being able to get it quite right. So this song, my friends, is Twenty11 Take 2.

I start as I mean to go on
One night to foreshadow a year to come.
Tears in the bathroom, tears in the grass
But finished with laughter of the highest class.

Would I relive 2011
I laughed the most in 2011
I cried the most in 2011
Oh I loved 2011.

Forget Summer Of '69
To be truthful
This summer was mine.
Painted faces, campfires,
Underneath the stars
Found out how much nicer
Turkish hospitals are than ours.

Would I relive 2011
I laughed the most in 2011
I cried the most in 2011
Oh I loved 2011.

From the very first blink I could see things start to change
People and surroundings day by day
From the very first breath I found it hard to
Catch it

Would I relive 2011
I laughed the most in 2011
I cried the most in 2011
I loved the most in 2011.

So, there you have it, think it sums up the year pretty well, or at least as well as such a short song could. Hopefully there'll be a follow up this time next year!

I am going to post a bit later on, like I did last year, with a quick roundup.
